From 09:00 AM the servers of New World Aeternum will be offline for a short maintenance. When you can play again and what the reason for the maintenance phase is, will be revealed by MeinMMO in the announcement.

Update from October 17, 2024 – 09:54 AM: The maintenance obviously takes longer than the planned 40 minutes. Due to a lack of official statements, it is currently unclear why and when the servers are supposed to be back online. We are keeping an eye on the server status for you and will update it as soon as the worlds go live.
What do I need to know about the maintenance? According to an official post from the developers on X, the European servers of New World Aeternum will be taken offline on October 17, 2024, at 09:00 AM. The reason: Important hotfixes need to be implemented.
The good news: The maintenance is expected to last only about 40 minutes. So it may be that you can access the servers again from 09:40 AM. In the meantime, you can for example have breakfast, do household chores, take a walk around the block, or watch the launch trailer of New World Aeternum:

What hotfixes are coming? The list of upcoming changes is – like the scheduled maintenance time – short:
- Players now always receive weapon XP for both equipped weapons, including the weapon in the sheath. The off-hand weapon grants a lower amount of XP than the main hand.
- A problem has been fixed that prevented multiple players from completing the quests “Face in the Fog” and “Unexpected Prisoner”.
- The spawn rate for corruption harpoons for the quest “As Black as Sackcloth” has been increased.
- A problem has been fixed where some players on Xbox could not see the global chat or their friends list.
What do I need to know about New World Aeternum? This is a fully adjusted version of the MMORPG from Amazon Games released in 2021, now playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series for the first time.
With the changes, New World has a greater focus on the single-player experience during the story campaign and in the endgame. At its core, however, the game remains an MMORPG with raids, dungeons, PvP, and much more.
