The dark world of Warhammer will soon be brought to life in a new game. Warhammer: Odyssey will be a free mobile MMORPG that aims to forgo features like autoplay or pay-to-win. The beta is expected to start soon.
What’s happening in the game? A new trailer for Warhammer: Odyssey recently appeared, indicating that the beta is set to start “soon.” For the first time, gameplay was also shown, although it was only visible for a short time.
This aligns with recent announcements, as the last of the 6 classes, the Archmage, was introduced in more detail just in October.
When exactly the beta will start is still unknown.

Why should you register for the beta? While Warhammer: Odyssey will be available for Android and iOS, it is designed not to play like a typical mobile MMORPG.
Odyssey forgoes auto-play and aims to resemble PC MMORPGs more closely in terms of gameplay. The focus is on PvE and playing in small groups, with plans for PvP that have not yet been published.
Six Classes, Iconic Locations, and Lots of Content
This is what Warhammer: Odyssey is set to offer:
- 6 different classes – Archmage, Shadow Warrior, Witch Hunter, Warrior Priest, Slayer, Engineer
- Iconic locations like the city of Marienburg or the Drakwald Forest
- Encounters with familiar characters from the Warhammer universe
- Fast travel points as soon as they have been discovered
- Many areas with quests and tasks
- Guilds in the form of a Mercenary Company
- Regular content updates after the release
When is the game expected to be released? Currently, there is no release date yet.
What does the monetization look like? The developers of Virtual Realms, an indie studio from Thailand, promise that the game will be released as a free-to-play title. Future content will also be released completely for free.
However, there will be an optional subscription that will include cosmetic and smaller “Quality of Life” features. A shop with cosmetic content is also planned.
