The new update of Warframe is live and not only brings several new features but also lets you compete against a boy band with contagious beats for cool weapons.
What update is this? As of today, March 19, 2025, the new major update of Warframe named “Techrot Encore” is live. Along with the stylish new rocker Warframe Temple, who heats up enemies with his guitar Lizzie, new Protoframes have also been introduced, with which you can chat via the new KIM messaging system – however, they are not romantically inclined.
Additionally, the Exalted weapons have been revised, and a ruthless variant of Deep Archimede named “Temporale Archimede” has been introduced, where you can alter the mission with stickers.
But perhaps the biggest innovation is the new adversary system, which directly ensures that you must face an infected boy band with contagious beats to obtain cool new weapons.
Contagious Terror with the Technocyte Coda
Who are the Technocyte Coda? The Technocyte Coda is an infected form of the boy band On-lyne, which even has its own “fan page” and a own song. It consists of 5 members, each bringing their unique style to the group. In the new area Höllvania, you can face the new adversary system.
How does the new adversary system work? To face the Technocyte Coda, you must not be on the radar of a Kuva Lich or a sister of Parvos. The system is also only available within the update content of Warframe: 1999.
The system takes place in 6 steps. You start the hunt for your adversary by defeating Techrot enemies. These can drop a special item upon a kill, which you must then take to an infested system. If you manage to launch the file on the item, your feud against the boy band begins.
All further steps can be read in the Deep Dive via warframe.com.
What weapons can I obtain from the new adversaries? The boy band drops tokens upon a kill, which you can trade with Eleanor in the Höllvania shopping center for one of the following 10 weapons. There are 3 primary and secondary weapons as well as 4 melee weapons available. In the future, 3 more Technocyte Coda weapons are set to be released.
With Warframe: 1999, a new romance system was also introduced, allowing you to flirt with Protoframes through the KIM messaging system. This system explicitly took inspiration from the romance system of Baldur’s Gate 3: A shooter will soon let you conduct romances, taking Baldur’s Gate 3 as a model
