With the DLC of Elden Ring, some new Spirit Ashes have also come into play. These NPC helpers can save you some nerves with the bosses. One of them has particularly caught the community’s attention.
What are Spirit Ashes? To refresh your memory: Spirit Ashes are optional aids in the form of NPCs that you can summon in boss fights and sometimes also in the open world.
These include some of the mini-bosses like Bloodhound Knight Dariiwil or the infamous Mimic Ash. The latter imitates your character and has the same equipment and stats. It is particularly powerful, provided your build is strong.
With the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, new Spirit Ashes have come into play. You may have overlooked one of them or picked it up without ever using it. However, the community believes: Give the Ash a chance, it’s worth it.
A small creature with a big cannon
Which Ash is it about? The user KishudarK promotes the “Big-Mouth-Creature-Ash” on Reddit. He reminds other players that this Ash exists and highlights its qualities. It can easily unbalance opponents, attacks from a distance, and can also take some hits.
The special thing about the Big-Mouth-Creature-Ash
is that it shoots bombs with a cannon that is its head at the same time. Hit enemies fly back from the explosion and often land on their rear.
At first glance, the small creature with the cannon looks harmless. However, players who have ventured into the catacombs of Elden Ring know it as a standard enemy and understand: This opponent can cause quite a lot of trouble.
Small but mighty is the motto that also applies to the Spirit Ash. Once you have upgraded it, it can support you in tough boss fights and provide some variety to the Mimic Ash.
What do other players think about it? This Spirit Ash is not known to all players – also because it can be found a bit hidden in the Darklight Catacombs in the DLC. However, those who have tried it are pleased:

Of course, this presupposes that you even play with Spirit Ashes. After all, there are plenty of players who prefer to tackle Elden Ring without additional help. This can sometimes be quite difficult, especially in the DLC. One YouTuber has now shown that you can defeat the bosses with just one single hit.
