It’s time for our MeinMMO format “MMORPG News in 5 Minutes.” We summarize the most important news regarding the best genre in the world. You can expect hopeful launches, sad departures, a wild crossover, and major updates.
Highlights of the week:
- On the official Discord of Pax Dei, the developers announced that they have taken note of players’ feedback and are planning adjustments to the payment model and the properties. Specifically, with the next patch, players will be able to pay property rent using the earnable currency Grace. Additionally, players will be able to purchase tokens without a subscription.
- Last weekend, Guild Wars 2 again recorded a record high of concurrent players on Steam (10,836, Source: steamcharts.com). The current positive trend was already triggered in October by the new expansion.
- The dataminers have once again hit the mark. The new real-money currency in World of Warcraft is coming. What the developers say, however, doesn’t calm the players.
- World of Warcraft is currently at an all-time high. Recent data suggests that – and a fairly accurate analysis.
What else happened? The end of New World is currently concerning many fans. Also, because the developers are suddenly implementing content that players have been requesting for ages – like a new weapon or a global search function for storage. A large part of the community is now fed up with the developers needing to react. One player who is still around is colleague Benedict:
RuneScape and Chess? No one probably had this crossover on their bingo card for 2025
This is what happened with the major MMORPGs:
- The 3rd phase of WoW Legion Remix has started. We’ll tell you what you must do today. With the latest patch, a detail has returned to the game that makes many nostalgic. For many, the symbol of Legion.
- If you want to spend real money in World of Warcraft, you will soon have another chance. But it will be an expensive pleasure.
- The beta for World of Warcraft Midnight is not even live yet, but it has already been leaked how it will continue.
- The Twitch streamer WoWGrandma78 is apparently tough. Just because she unfortunately broke her wrist, doesn’t mean she has to stop healing high Mythic-Plus dungeons in World of Warcraft.
- Last year, the Netflix documentary “The Fantastic Life of Ibelin” told the touching story of a player from World of Warcraft. Soon, a film adaptation with a star-studded cast will hit the big screen.
- Once again, fans of World of Warcraft are enviously looking at Final Fantasy XIV. Because in Eorzea, you get something that players in Azeroth can only dream of.
- However, there has also been an outcry in the Final Fantasy XIV community: A popular mod for sharing mods was shut down. In the latest live letter from the producer, it was said that this could finally bring a long-desired feature.
- On November 6th, a new update brought the next difficulty levels for the boss Bamboo Legion to Black Desert. You can find the patch notes at playblackdesert.com.
- Throne and Liberty also received an update this week. It includes the ranked battlegrounds, the group and guild ping system, as well as bug fixes. The patch notes can be found as usual at playthroneandliberty.com.
This is what happened with the minor MMORPGs:

- The now 18-year-old MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online lets you explore the vast continent of Middle-earth that you know from the books and films. But how long does it take to follow Frodo and Sam’s arduous path to Mount Doom? A YouTuber has now found that out.
- Speaking of LotRO: A new, large MMORPG set in The Lord of the Rings was supposed to be launched in the coming years. Now Amazon has apparently laid off many of the developers and for MeinMMO editor Sophia Weiß, the dream of the next big hyper-focus is going down the drain. So she took a quick look at the original … and is blown away.
- In LotRO, bonus days with various bonuses are running until December 1st. Additionally, the Spring Festival returns on November 13th. You can find the details at lotro.com.

- On November 19th, the first new skill ever, Sailing, will come to RuneScape. To ensure everything goes smoothly, there was a technical pre-release this week. You can find the announcement at runescape.com.
- Almost a month after the release of Blue Protocol: Star Resonance on Steam, players are getting frustrated with themselves and believe this could even lead to the end of the MMORPG.
- In the night from November 3rd to 4th, 2025, the servers of Tarisland went offline forever.
- On November 6th, Dungeons & Dragons Online received update 75.7. The highlight: a new raid challenge. The patch notes can be found at ddo.com.

- The mobile MMORPG Raven 2 will receive the new class of Gunslinger on November 19th. There’s a preview trailer on YouTube:
