Myth of Empires (PC) will offer you a unique gaming experience. In this sandbox MMO, there are no fantasy elements. Instead, you will engage in massive battles where you can even command an army of NPCs. The first alpha is intended to show how this works.
What is Myth of Empires? Set in 3rd century China, you start as a nobody but can rise to become the emperor. However, you begin like in a survival game. You start with nothing, gather resources, craft basic equipment like weapons, and build a shelter. Along the way, you will have to deal with wild animals, bandits, and hostile players.
Over time, you will become more powerful and can even build forts with other players. It’s possible to recruit NPCs to assist you. They can work for you or you can train them to become soldiers.
Later, you will begin conquering entire territories. You will participate in massive battles where you not only control your own hero but also command your NPC army. As the ruler of a land, you will even have to rely on diplomacy to acquire necessary goods through trade.
Horse breeding is important. Horses play a significant role in battles, and your own horse is a companion that supports you and allows you to travel faster.

An MMO without fantasy elements
What makes the game special? There are no fantasy elements in Myth of Empires. This means you have to do without magic, orcs, and dragons. The game aims to stand apart from fantasy MMORPGs.
This is how you can participate: Myth of Empires will enter an alpha phase on April 16. This will last until April 23. The alpha is intended to give you an initial look at the online game.
To participate, you can register now on the website (via Myth of Empires). With a bit of luck, you will be selected and can start playing on April 16.
If you don’t get lucky at the start of the test, the developers want to reassure you. They plan to send out more invitations during the alpha to gradually allow more players.
The alpha will be conducted in English and Chinese. The testing phase aims to try out the features of the MMO, find bugs, and gather feedback. So, you should not expect a final gaming experience.
You can watch livestreams and videos from the alpha, as there is no NDA. Or you can stream what you experience in the game yourself.
When will Myth of Empires be released? The MMO currently has no release date. However, it is said to be released on Steam. The developers have not yet announced whether it will be a free-to-play, subscription, or buy-to-play title. They plan to decide on monetization later.
