The MMORPG Tower of Fantasy has been in beta here in the West since April. Now, an event for pre-registration for the game has started. There, you can expect cool rewards. The release is expected to take place in 2022 on Steam, Epic, and Mobile.
What kind of MMORPG is this? Tower of Fantasy is a free anime MMORPG that focuses on a large, open game world that you can explore with your character. Visually, it resembles a mix of Genshin Impact and the highly anticipated MMORPG Blue Protocol.
- You follow a story on the planet Ada, which humans have colonized in the future. The story is told through various quests.
- The MMORPG does not focus on classes and instead lets you determine the playstyle through armor and weapons.
- Tower of Fantasy features an action-packed combat system where you must aim yourself. A highlight here is the “perfect dodge.” When you achieve this, a dome is created that temporarily freezes enemies.
- In the open world, you can climb, swim, fly with jetpacks, and destroy objects.
- In the endgame, you can expect dungeons, raids, PvP content, and achievements, from which you can complete up to 2,600.
- A gacha system for weapons in the endgame, similar to how it works for weapons and characters in Genshin Impact.

Pre-Register and a Release in 2022
What is currently happening with Tower of Fantasy? In April, the MMORPG started its closed beta. This ran until early May. Recently, another beta test took place from June 21 to 26, focused on the regions in South America, and players who had not participated in the first beta were asked to register first.
It is currently unclear if there will be another beta in early July.
Yesterday, the official pre-registration for the release of Tower of Fantasy started. On the website, you can pre-register for Steam, Epic Games, the App Store, and the Play Store (via TowerOfFantasy). The MMORPG offers crossplay between the mentioned platforms.
As of now (June 27, 3:00 PM), over 150,000 people have signed up. The developers are distributing gifts based on the number of early registrations. Rewards include gold, buff food, and nucleus – the item used for the gacha mechanic.
The highest rewards are at 2.5 million pre-registrations. However, you only receive the rewards if you also pre-register. After the release, you have 180 days to claim your reward.
When does Tower of Fantasy come out? The release is officially scheduled for the third quarter of 2022, which includes the months of July to September. However, there is currently no exact release date.
