Throne and Liberty, which will also be released on Steam, seems to be preparing for its upcoming release in Korea. Recently, there has been a barrage of trailers presenting different aspects of the game. A new trailer focuses on the bosses in the game.
What types of bosses will there be? The trailer introduces four different boss types that players may encounter in Throne and Liberty:
- World bosses, of which there will be 18
- Standard bosses in dungeons, there will be 6 dungeons at launch
- Guild raid bosses
- Arch-bosses, of which there will be 2 available at a later date
World bosses roam freely in the game world and can be attacked by players who are nearby. They drop rarer items than normal enemies; however, more players are needed to defeat them.
The standard bosses in dungeons are – as you can already guess – the bosses that you encounter at the end of a dungeon. These dungeons will be unlocked at level 30 (maximum level: 50) and can be tackled by player groups consisting of up to 6 people.
If you have reached Act 2, you have the option to join a guild. In a raid, you can face special opponents with your guild. There will be no other players to interfere with your endeavor.

What about the arch-bosses? The arch-bosses are only available from level 50, which is the maximum level. Players must group together in large numbers to defeat such a boss. For the arch-boss depicted in the trailer, the chest must first be attacked to weaken it.
Once such an arch-boss is defeated, there are bonuses that affect the entire server. In the video, for example, an effect can be seen that lasts for 2 hours. With the bonus, the damage of an attack is increased by 5.
However, there is a problem with the arch-bosses: PvP is active here. This means that players can hinder each other. Therefore, killing such a boss becomes an even greater challenge.
The arch-bosses should not be available from the start. The NCSoft development team wants to introduce the bosses only one and a half months after the release, when players have reached the maximum level and suitably equipped themselves.
Otherwise, it would not be feasible to defeat such an arch-boss. This shows how powerful these bosses will be. Throne and Liberty is expected to be released in Europe at the end of Q1. In Korea, players can already look forward to it: the release is already on December 7, 2023.
