With the Kone Air, Roccat has introduced a new gaming mouse. Not only is it wireless, but it is also said to have a runtime of 800 hours. MeinMMO presents the mouse and reveals what to expect.
Roccat surprises in its latest presentation with a very understated design for a gaming mouse and a long battery life.
The manufacturer employs familiar technical features that one already knows from previous Roccat mice. Nevertheless, despite the long battery life, the mouse may face tough competition in its market segment.
Roccat’s new gaming mouse is simple and relies on batteries
What kind of gaming mouse is this? What stands out directly is the understated design. Roccat completely forgoes RGB lighting with the Kone Air, which is surprising compared to the colorful Kone XP that we could test. The mouse is available either in black or white.
In terms of ergonomics, Roccat remains true to the Kone series and is very similar to the Kone XP or Kone Pro. The old mice had previously impressed us with their ergonomics and were able to replicate the human hand well, which should also be a plus for the new Kone Air.
On the left side, there is still a thumb rest and on the top, a button for DPI or profile changes. However, a true highlight could be the runtime of the gaming mouse. Roccat promises that the mouse should last for 800 hours. For this purpose, two batteries are placed inside the mouse, reminiscent of the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed.
Inside, Roccat installs familiar technical features. The Owl-Eye sensor with 19,000 DPI is used, while the Titan Optical switches are located beneath the mouse buttons, which are also used in other Roccat mice.

The high weight of the Kone Air could be a disadvantage compared to the competition
Nevertheless, the mouse may have a harder time compared to the competition. With a weight of 119 grams (with one battery), the model is significantly heavier than the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed (83 grams) or other wireless mice like the Logitech G502 Lightspeed (102 grams). With a second battery, the weight is likely to increase even further.
This may make it particularly difficult for players who are looking for a lightweight and wireless gaming mouse. Many manufacturers currently have a tendency to make their mice lighter.
How much will the Kone Air cost and when can it be bought? The Kone Air will be available from November 14 and can already be preordered directly from Roccat for €69.99.
