The latest patch in World of Warcraft is causing dissatisfaction. Because a “great feature” is not really that great.
The latest update of World of Warcraft, Patch 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh, has been live for several days. In the meantime, many have already had the opportunity to take a close look at the new story and the new area K’aresh. While the story is well received by many, there are some criticisms of the new update. Especially the mechanic of phased diving is not well received – it is met with mockery and scorn.
What is phased diving? Phased diving is unlocked along with the acquisition of the Reshii wrappers. It allows your character to leave the physical realm and transition into the “Unbound Realm.” This is an area where you do not have a proper body but only exist on an energy-based level.
In the Unbound Realm, you find different enemies, quests, and also various treasures that you cannot find in the normal version of K’aresh.
What is being criticized? There are quite a number of criticisms. On the one hand, it is criticized that you can only enter the Unbound Realm at specific points. Therefore, you have to walk a lot “back and forth” to finally reach the place you actually want to go. Additionally, there is little to do in the Unbound Realm. While there are numerous elite opponents and some rare enemies, most of it is said to be tedious and lengthy. Some even feel reminded of the Maw.
A major criticism is also that for many, phased diving is simply boring. It is just the same world, only everything is colored purple. The gameplay does not really change, as it makes no difference whether you fight in the material realm or in the Unbound Realm.
It is important to know that some features of phased diving will only be unlocked over the next few weeks as you upgrade the Reshii wrappers.
