What makes Rise of Rebellion so special? Visually, the game initially resembles the world design of Dark Souls. It is a bit brighter than the dark world of FromSoftware, but parallels can definitely be seen.
This is also no coincidence, as the game’s developer, Hytacka, is, according to Automaton Media, a former designer from FromSoftware who worked on the DLC for Dark Souls 3. As stated in his description on x.com, he aims to develop the most interesting action RPG in the world.
However, in terms of game speed, Rise of Rebellion differs greatly from Dark Souls, Elden Ring, or Bloodborne. It is significantly faster and also emphasizes quick blocking and parrying. Similar to Elden Ring, it appears that the player’s character has magic abilities that can be utilized in combat.
