Traveling through a radioactive exclusion zone is no Sunday stroll – as crazy as this action RPG on Steam may seem, such a trip in real life shouldn’t become like that.
Which game is it about? We are talking about Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone, an action RPG with elements of science fiction. In it, you travel through a post-apocalyptic game world inspired by the Chernobyl exclusion zone. There, as a result of the reactor catastrophe, a new element called Chernobylite has emerged, which everyone is searching for.
In the open game world of Chernobyl, you not only have to face various creatures but also other humans – unless you can convince them with words. In the gameplay trailer, the developers show what you need to prepare for.
You can watch the trailer here:
What does the trailer show? The game world consists of dense forests, abandoned huts, and empty building complexes that are bathed in a creepy green light due to the Chernobylite. Exploration takes place from the first-person perspective, where you can access a futuristic tablet with a minimap and scanner.
Action battles, base building, and teamwork
For the battles, the game switches to third-person view, where you have a variety of weapons available for melee and ranged combat. In Chernobyl, you not only have to fend off radioactive mutants but also animated machines made from scrap lying around.
Between battles, you build a base, learn skills, craft new equipment, and assemble a team of survivors. This way, you improve your chances of surviving in the inhospitable world and grabbing some of the coveted Chernobylite for yourself.
When will Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone be released? The developers have not yet provided an exact release date, but they are aiming for a release in 2025 on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If the release occurs as planned in 2025, fans of the first part will have waited only 4 years for the new game. Meanwhile, fans have been waiting for a very similar game for over 14 years.
