Fans have new hope that one of their favorite games will soon be released on PC. The new PS chief loves the title.
The era of exclusive titles for certain platforms seems to be slowly coming to an end in many areas. More and more crossplay and simultaneous releases on different platforms have become the norm – with few exceptions, which have contributed to a crisis at Final Fantasy.
Now there is hope for all Bloodborne fans that this title will finally come to PC as well.
What is the problem? Not all games from From Software have made it to PC. While the “Dark Souls” series and Elden Ring are available on PC, a particularly popular game from the Japanese studio is not: Bloodborne. The game was originally released exclusively for PlayStation 4, and to this day, the only way to play it on PC is through emulation.
There is no official version for PC available so far.
Why is there hope now? A lot has changed at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Former CEO Jim Ryan has left, and as a result, there are now some new leaders at Sony, including Hideaki Nishino, the CEO of the SIE Platforms Business Group.
In an interview from 2021, he specifically stated that he enjoys single-player games, particularly Bloodborne (via 3djuegos.com). Especially during the pandemic, he played such games and grew to love them.
While this is just the personal taste of the CEO, it offers a glimmer of hope for many that such games will finally be made accessible to a wider audience – namely with a PC version.
That Sony is increasingly venturing into the PC market is obvious – especially the super hit Helldivers 2 is a good example of this, but also titles like Ghost of Tsushima are coming to PC.
What does this mean for PC gamers? Even though there hasn’t been an announcement yet about bringing Bloodborne to PC, it at least stirs some hope that the game will soon run on home computers.
The new head of the department seems to have at least some interest in this kind of game, and considering how Sony’s PC strategy has looked in recent months, hope has at least increased. Perhaps in line with the new DLC for Elden Ring.
Would you be excited about the latest Souls games from From Software on PC? Or is Bloodborne now too old to still be truly interesting?
