In 2021, the cinematic series “Arcane” premiered on Netflix. The story enchanted not only long-time fans of League of Legends but also viewers who had never heard of the Riot MOBA before. Arcane was so good that it earned an Emmy.
Arcane wins not just fans: On September 4, the Emmy Award ceremonies took place in the United States. At this event, various entertainment programs such as series aired on television are nominated and crowned as the best.
On this occasion, Arcane, the LoL series on Netflix, was also invited. Because it impressed not only the fans but also the jury. They brought home a total of four Emmys.
Emmy Award for Best Animated Program
Arcane has emotionally captivated many viewers and immersed them in an unfamiliar world full of secrets. This was evident, as the implementation was so good that the developers behind the series received the award for Best Animated Program.
The winners thanked Riot Games and especially the viewers on Twitter, as they made it possible for them to get this far.
Arcane also faced impressive competition. This included the yellow Simpsons, the crazy series “Rick and Morty”, the most popular snack “Bobs Burgers”, and Marvel: What if…? All series were defeated and overshadowed by the lore of the MOBA.
Will Arcane get a second season? The first season is not the end, as the series ended with a dramatic cliffhanger. Old and new fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of the series. An exact date is not known, but the CEO of Riot Games makes it clear that 2022 will not be the year of release. It is assumed that the release can be expected at the earliest in 2023.
