Blizzard is attracting more and more developers to a new, secret project. What could the game studio be working on?
Those who have followed the news surrounding Blizzard on our website in recent weeks have witnessed the great disappearance of the Game Directors. World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm have each passed the position on to a direct successor.
Of the 3 previous team leaders, namely Tom Chilton (WoW), Eric Dodds (Hearthstone), and Dustin Browder (HotS), there is more or less no trace – at least as far as their tasks are concerned. All that is known is that they are working on a “new project” within Blizzard, but so far there is no information on what it could be about.

Before we delve into speculation ourselves, we simply pass on the question about Blizzard’s secret project. What do you think the game Blizzard is currently working on is? And when will we get the first reliable information about it? What genre would you like to see from Blizzard?
Cortyn says: Even though I personally hope that Blizzard finally focuses on a good single-player game, where they can fully concentrate on “single-player action,” like an engaging story and “detached” actions from other players, I fear that Blizzard may take a different route.
In several interviews, it has been emphasized that no one has “really taken the mobile market” yet, and this could be the next big market to tackle. Sure, when I think of “mobile games,” I first think of a lot of trash and nothing that “core gamers” could really warm up to – but maybe Blizzard will succeed in doing just that.
On the other hand, I could imagine that they are already laying the groundwork for a second Overwatch game – perhaps a single-player game or a classic adventure. That would be “something different” and I would really like that.
