In Monster Hunter World , players will soon receive a kind of mount, the “Raider Rides” are already a favorite among fans. They work like a taxi and quickly transport hunters across the map. The mounts are expected to come with Iceborne in September for PS4 and Xbox One. The Steam version on PC will have to wait a bit longer.
This is the Raider Ride: A few days ago, Capcom introduced the new feature “Raider Rides”. This will come with the Iceborne expansion in a few months for PS4 and Xbox One – PC and the Steam version will take a bit longer. It will probably not be until 2020.
Initially, there was only the video and a few pieces of information about it. The video shows a group of hunters riding on lizards, which looks pretty cool and immediately excited many hunters.
Since E3 2019, more details have emerged.

This is how the players reacted: The first player immediately exclaimed, “We are getting mounts” or “Oh my god” and found it really great at first.
Mounts are somehow part of “big games”, they make it easier to get from point A to B. This is especially important if the world of Monster Hunter World Iceborne really becomes as big as expected.
5 Things You Need to Know About Raider Rides
Are they really mounts? The “Raider Rides” are not mounts in the sense of controllable animals like in MMORPGs Final Fantasy XIV or WoW, although you ride them, they work a little differently:
- The Raider Rides are more like “taxis” that you cannot directly control.
- The player can call such a taxi and then choose a position on the map where they want the monster to take them. The monster is then “on rails.”
- The hunter can, however, shoot with their slinger, collect materials, eat, sharpen their weapon, or open the map while riding.
- The mounts in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne do not have unlimited stamina, but tire over time and need to rest, during which they cannot be used.
- Each region in Iceborne has its own taxi monster.
