A new story trailer was released for the Iceborne expansion of Monster Hunter World. We present you 4 details that you must have seen in the trailer.
What kind of trailer is this? Overall, you will see 4 minutes of interesting insights into the Iceborne expansion. You will see battles with many monsters, as well as your new base called Seliana.
However, there are also some details that are not addressed directly in the trailer, but suggest something interesting.
This is your new base Seliana
In the trailer, you can see Seliana, your new base, from which you will embark on your adventures. In Seliana, you can stock up on a variety of useful resources to be well-prepared for the fight with the monsters.
Additionally, you will have the chance to participate in mini-games in Seliana. There, you can earn more resources that will be useful for you later.
You can ride on small monsters
Although it’s only shown briefly in the trailer, you can use small monsters as mounts. This also applies to your Palico. The trailer features a clip with a Jagras.
The unique feature will be that you cannot control the Jagras. You can either set a waypoint on the map or send the monster to track, so you can locate larger monsters. This is revealed by a tweet from the Japanese Twitter account.
These 2 monsters are coming back
One thing that surely cannot be missed in the trailer: many large monsters. You will get to see that as well. In Iceborne, familiar faces will be waiting for you again, but some new forms will also come your way.
Tigrex:
Certainly, an old fan-favorite, the Tigrex, will be part of it. The monster is a flying wyvern and made its first appearance in Monster Hunter Freedom 2. Tigrex is a massive monster that has a particularly large head and huge teeth. It uses its wings as front legs to glide quickly from place to place. If you want to know more about the monster, here is the Wiki entry for Tigrex.
Glavenus:
The wyvern Glavenus is also returning! This is revealed by a small teaser at the end of the trailer. This return is interesting because Glavenus is associated with the fire element, which could create an interesting contrast in the icy world of Iceborne. Glavenus can create fiery explosions with its tail and mouth. It will definitely be an interesting battle.
New monsters are also coming to Iceborne, and some of them we already know:
Anjanath is frozen – Is this the story hook?
Admittedly, Capcom is still keeping us a bit in the dark here, but some fans have already come up with interesting theories about the frozen Anjanath. It is only briefly visible in the trailer.
Is it the reason why the hunters and researchers travel to the Frost Islands? So they want to find out which monsters are powerful enough to freeze an Anjanath effortlessly, according to the theory. This could also be the transition to the new Master Rank, which replaces the old G-Rank.
What was your highlight of the trailer?
