A second Open Beta for Monster Hunter Wilds was recently announced. Many fans are very excited to have another opportunity to preview the new installment. The new Beta is intended as a second chance to give players this opportunity. The version of Monster Hunter Wilds will, however, be the same one that was already available in the first Beta. There will only be some additional content. Feedback from the first Beta and subsequently announced adjustments will not be part of the Beta.
The Beta is scheduled to take place in early February and is divided into two phases. Many fans are excited about this opportunity and have already made plans for what they want to do with it. However, there are also some in the community who want to explicitly avoid the Beta.

Why do some fans want to avoid the Beta? In a thread on Reddit, user Budget-Doughnut503 asks whether anyone besides him also intends not to play the Beta. He wants to start Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28, 2025, completely unbiased, and therefore stays away from the Beta.
In the comments, there are several like-minded individuals who share his approach. Some of them briefly checked out the first Beta, but mainly to see if their PC could handle the high demands of the game. Otherwise, they want to spoil themselves as little as possible to start the new adventure “as fresh as possible” once it is released.
Others explicitly avoid the second Beta because they do not want to experience a technically inferior state so close to release. They prefer to wait until the release and enjoy the game completely with all improvements.
What plans do players have who will participate in the Beta? Most fans commenting under the thread mainly want to ensure that they have optimized their hunter and Palico visually enough to start right away at the official launch.
Others primarily want to test with new devices to see if Monster Hunter Wilds runs better on these. Additionally, they want to check if they can still optimize the settings before release. Some are also looking forward to the returning monster that will be available in the second Beta and are curious about what other content will be added.
