We divide our list alphabetically into “Large Monsters” and “Small Monsters”. With our directory, you can quickly jump to individual monsters:

What do the stars mean? The stars indicating status weaknesses represent the severity of the weakness. The rule is: the more stars, the more vulnerable the monster is to that weakness.
The stars in the loot list represent the rarity of the respective item. The rule is: the more stars, the rarer the loot.
What do the abbreviations NR & HR mean? NR stands for low-rank rewards from low-rank monsters. Accordingly, HR stands for high-rank rewards from high-rank monsters. High-rank monsters only appear later in the game.
Large Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
These are the bosses in the various areas. They can only be defeated with a good strategy.
Ajarakan
- Elemental Weaknesses: Water, Ice
- Status Weaknesses: Poison**, Sleep**, Paralysis**, Explosion**, Stun**, Fatigue**
- Type: Fanged Beast
- Habitat: Oil Spring Basin, Wyveria
- Variants: Normal, Hardened
What kind of monster is this? The Ajarakan resembles a monkey with a spiky back. With its claws, it can scratch this back to create an effect that resembles a furnace.
Tips for your hunt
For a fight against Ajarakan, you should stock up on cold drinks or look for Frost Coats in the area – because Ajarakan loves as hot areas as possible. You can cool it down with Water Moss if it ignites. Bring Nullberries for the Fire Plague and deodorants for the Explosive Plague.
Both pest types can also be healed by dodging multiple times. Ranged fighters won’t get anywhere with normal arrows or ammunition because Ajarakan simply melts them – here you should rely on alternatives. Ajarakan’s arms are its weak points. The tail and back can be broken.
