The new Call of Duty blog post finally announced important dates for the release of CoD: Modern Warfare 2. It primarily concerns the beta, which is supposed to bring players the enjoyment of the new Activision shooter. We will show you everything important about it.
What has been announced? CoD: Modern Warfare can already be pre-ordered on all platforms, but until now there was no trace of the beta release. Now Activision provided more information about who can start when. The following dates should be noted in your calendar:
- First weekend only for pre-orders and PlayStation exclusive – September 16 – 17
- First weekend only PlayStation exclusive without pre-order – September 18 – 20
- Open beta for PC, XBOX, and PlayStation pre-orders – September 22 – 23
- Open beta for all platforms – September 24 – 26

How does the beta work and who can participate? Every player, whether pre-ordered or not, can get a taste of the new shooter. However, pre-orderers and PlayStation owners have it better, as they can participate in the beta before all other platforms.
So you are not forced to own a PlayStation or be asked for payment before the release to get a taste of MW2.

Is there anything else important to know? On September 15, Infinity Ward will start a showcase where many details about the immediate future of Call of Duty will be revealed. Among them are many more details about Modern Warfare II, information about the next Call of Duty®: Warzone, and more about the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone (also known as Project Aurora).
In addition, you will receive a complete multiplayer reveal of Modern Warfare II. Many streamers will grab their weapons in real time and compete against each other. More detailed information can be found in the blog post by Activision.
