The Kickstarter MMORPG Crowfall will close on November 22 to reinvent itself. But WoW: Dragonflight is eagerly awaiting its launch in two weeks. This and more in the MMORPG weekly review on MeinMMO.
This week’s highlights:
- World of Warcraft brings the Evoker, its first new class in 6 years, which you can play starting November 16.
- Allegedly, Sony is planning an MMORPG in the world of Horizon: Zero Dawn in collaboration with publisher and developer NCSoft.
- Lost Ark announced a partnership with CD Projekt Red, allowing you to meet Geralt, Ciri, and Co. in Arkesia as early as next year.
This week’s controversy: After a little over 7 years of development, Crowfall launched in 2021 and aimed to revolutionize PvP MMORPGs. On November 22, just under 1.5 years after the release, the game will go offline again to reinvent itself.
This week’s discussion: The sale of characters in MMORPGs is frowned upon, but our editor Alexander Leitsch believes that all games should offer this feature. What do you think?
The Evokers in WoW belong to the upcoming expansion Dragonflight. See here all the info about the first 2 dungeons:
Guild Wars 2 is bringing back the capital city that has been destroyed since 2014
What happened in the major MMORPGs:
- The capital city of Lion’s Arch in Guild Wars 2 was completely destroyed in 2014 as part of the story, which saddened many fans. Now it’s back and you can enter it for the first time again. Guild Wars 2 also mocks the next WoW expansion in a new commercial: “Why should you wait for dragon riding?”
- The developers of Lost Ark admitted that the last raid was a bit tough, but the next one will be even harder. On Tuesday, the next class and many changes are also coming to Lost Ark. But you should act before the update, or you’ll lose important items.
- The new talent system in WoW: Dragonflight has some bugs and gives newcomers no chance to understand their talents. Moreover, it’s going to be tough on healers in WoW, as Blizzard is handing out harsh healing nerfs for PvP arenas.
- The next patch in Final Fantasy XIV is called “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble” and will come only in January, the developers have now revealed (via massivelyop).
What happened in the small MMORPGs:
- A player in Metin 2 had characters worth €640 stolen and went straight to the police, and the story has a happy ending.
- In EVE Online, the next big expansion “Uprising” started and brings not only new content but also a major war where NPC factions play the main role.
- Tower of Fantasy will receive its next update on November 22 and will bring a great labyrinth into the game (via mmorpg.com).
- Embers Adrift is addressing some server issues and launching a new dungeon (via massivelyop).
- Star Wars: The Old Republic will still receive the update “Showdown on Ruhnuk” this year, which will introduce a new planet and many PvP changes (via massivelyop).
- Dark Age of Camelot is celebrating its 21st birthday with a catch-up event aimed primarily at new players (via massivelyop).
- Fractured Online started in September in early access on Steam, but now has only 23 players. What happened there has been examined by MeinMMO for you.
