The MMORPG Tree of Savior (PC) has received a major update. It mainly brought endgame content, including particularly difficult raids and new weapons that partially come with really strong stats.
What is Tree of Savior? The Korean free-to-play MMORPG was released in 2016 on Steam. It is developed by some creators of Ragnarok Online, which is also the basic inspiration for the game. Visually, you can instantly recognize parallels due to the anime graphic style and the controls from an isometric perspective.
Content-wise, Tree of Savior offers:
- Fighting against monsters and a lot of grinding. Boss fights require you to team up with other players.
- Much character improvement through equipment, upgrades, and new expanded classes.
- A maximum level of 450.
- A housing system.
- No PvP in the open world, only in special arenas.
- Regular updates. In 2019, it got 4 new classes implemented.

Update brings raid and strong weapons
What is the highlight? On July 27th, a major update was released with new endgame content. The patch had previously been released in Korea and has since been eagerly awaited by us.
A highlight is the new raid White Witch’s Forest, the most challenging instance in the game so far. It requires level 440 and contains unique armor and weapon recipes. The battle against the White Witch is said to be quite challenging, due to the rarity of raids and high difficulties in Tree of Savior.
On reddit, player sellyssalt reported that in a 5-man group, he always relied on 2 healers. This is also due to the different mechanics present in the boss fight. In addition, players need to have high-level equipment to be prepared for the fight.
What else did the update bring? With the patch, 8 new Vivora weapons were released. The drop chance for them is said to be low, but they have interesting effects that make them among the best weapons for some classes in the game.

- Loads of quests for the current Episode 12
- Four new boss monsters
- Adjustments in balance, both for classes as well as rewards and general PvE content

What do the player numbers of the MMORPG say? In the last 30 days, an average of 2,511 people played Tree of Savior. At the same time, the peak was 3,170 players active.
The numbers rose significantly in March and April, which can also be observed in other MMORPGs on Steam. The coronavirus likely played a part in this. However, the numbers remained quite stable in June and July and are significantly higher than those from 2019.
Although it does not reach the big three, Final Fantasy XIV, Black Desert, and SWTOR, which just appeared on Steam, it ranks quite high among MMORPGs on Steam overall.
