With Defiance 2050, Trion Worlds is working on a reboot of the online shooter Defiance, and soon you will be able to find out how this version plays. A first closed beta will start in April for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Defiance 2050 aims to be more modern, align with the current market of online shooters, and provide a gaming experience that one expects from a shooter today. Additionally, the developers want to improve the graphics and make the game playable on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
A new game
Big things are planned, including:
- A new progression system
- New item systems with weapon mods
- A lot of gameplay changes
- Improved graphics
- Version for Xbox One and PS4
Defiance 2050 should feel like a new game. And you will be able to carry over some progress from the “old” version. This includes unique titles you’ve earned in Defiance, as well as account upgrades. These include loadout slots and character slots.
Additionally, you will earn “Valor Commendations” in the original version of Defiance, which will grant you boosts in the new version and cosmetic items like outfits, titles, and skins.
Beta starting soon – Sign up for PC, PS4, Xbox One
On the official website, you can sign up for the beta of Defiance 2050. It is also confirmed when this will start. You can first try out the revamped version of the online shooter from April 20 to 22. This will offer you the Assault class, which you can also customize. You are allowed to post impressions, images, and videos from the beta.
Defiance 2050 will not replace the original for the time being.
