For a long time, MMOs have not been solely a PC domain anymore. Consoles and even mobile devices are now just as suitable for online gaming. Therefore, we want to know: On which platforms do you plan to play MMOs in the future?
In the past, genres were still clearly separated by platforms: Fighting games and Japanese RPGs were almost exclusively found on consoles, real-time strategy and online role-playing games almost only on PCs. But since dynamic and action-packed MMORPGs like Neverwinter, The Elder Scrolls Online, and recently the fun Marvel Heroes Omega have begun to invade consoles, online games can no longer be imagined without consoles.
MMO Platforms – PC, Console, or Mobile?
The dynamic gameplay of Neverwinter or Marvel Heroes translates wonderfully with the gamepad. In The Elder Scrolls Online, players on PS4 and Xbox One even make up two-thirds of the total player base! Online role-playing games are very popular among console players. Therefore, further online role-playing games, such as TERA or Black Desert Online, are being prepared for launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
If you are someone who is frequently on the go and owns a powerful mobile device, you can now also play cool online games on the move. For example, the action MMORPG HIT or the award-winning MOBA Vainglory. If you want real high-gloss MMORPGs with Unreal 4 graphics, you won’t have to wait long anymore. In summer 2017, both Lineage 2 Revolution and ArcheAge Begins are set to be released in this country.
Mobile MMOs as a Future Concept?
Both games are high-quality online role-playing games that offer everything you’d expect from a PC or console experience – just for on the go, including raids, quests, dungeons, PvP, crafting, housing, and action gameplay.
Upcoming smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S8 are even expected to connect to a screen along with a mouse and keyboard via docking station. This way, you can play a mobile MMO at home on a large screen. When you need to leave, you simply take the phone out of the dock and continue playing on the go.
