We at Mein-MMO.de are looking for a new author to work from home, writing about MMORPGs in general and The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) in particular.
Who we are
Mein-MMO.de was founded in September 2013 and is now part of Webedia Gaming. We exclusively cover multiplayer online games that are continuously developed over a long period of time.
We have been reporting on MMORPGs since the launch of our site. MMORPGs are in our DNA, and we passionately report on games like World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Final Fantasy XIV.
We reach between 250,000 and 300,000 unique readers every day, with about 4,000 comments written each week.
Every day, about 15 authors write their articles, news, stories, and guides about online games.
We take the approach of covering games more in depth, becoming experts in individual games, and being close to the community.
What we are looking for
We are looking exclusively for specialized authors for MMORPGs who engage globally with this genre. Deep knowledge of the game “The Elder Scrolls Online” is especially important.
The job involves covering games of the MMORPG genre and finding news or quirky stories from the respective communities. You should have a broad interest in MMORPGs and engage with several games in the genre:
- the MMORPG you should primarily and intensively cover for MeinMMO is The Elder Scrolls Online. The focus in the first months will be on intensive reporting about the new expansion Elsweyr
- other MMORPGs for which we have news needs include titles like Black Desert, Final Fantasy XIV, Lord of the Rings Online, or new MMORPGs in development (Lost Ark, A:IR, Ashes of Creation, Crowfall, Camelot Unchained, Pantheon) – knowledge of some of these games is desirable
You should be familiar with the most important information sources for the respective MMORPGs and be able to gather information broadly. These can be publisher channels or fan forums.
We expect authors whose phones ring and hearts race when the official account of the game tweets even the smallest detail. You write for the community. Therefore, you should not think that your opinion about the games is the only correct one and strongly advocate it.
Ideally, you have already gained experience in journalism and have written for other sites or maintained your own blog.
This is not a full-time job, but it requires a few hours each week. We expect about 4-7 news articles or articles (opinions, analyses, specials) weekly – we are flexible. However, it is essential that time and willingness are present. The author can schedule their working hours themselves – but they should be available in a timely manner for important news.
