We at Mein-MMO.de are looking for new full-time authors or female authors working from home who want to write about Anthem for our site as freelancers from home. The position is initially intended for three months on a project basis. However, there is a prospect of long-term employment after the project phase has concluded.
Who we are
Mein-MMO.de was founded in September 2013 and is now part of Webedia Gaming. We focus exclusively on multiplayer online games that continue to develop over a long period.
We have been reporting on Anthem regularly since the major announcement at E3 in 2017. Shared-world shooters like Anthem are among the pillars of Mein-MMO.de, and we passionately cover games like Destiny 2, The Division 2, or Warframe.
We reach between 250,000 and 300,000 unique readers every day. They write about 4,000 comments a week.
About 15 authors write their articles, news, stories, and guides about online games every day.
We follow the approach of accompanying games in depth, becoming experts in individual games, and being close to the community.
What we are looking for
We are looking exclusively for specialist authors for shared-world shooters with Anthem as a fixed area of responsibility.
The job consists of taking care of Anthem, “making it your own”, taking responsibility for it, and expanding our role in reporting on the game.
The regular articles about Anthem must be timely. News should also be current and happen promptly. Therefore, you must be flexible in your working hours.
Therefore, you should identify with Anthem and know it extremely well. Our community notices when an author has no idea and is just trying to get by. Thus, expertise about the game is important.
This is especially true after the release of Anthem when all details about gameplay and story are revealed.
You should know the most important information sources about the game and be able to inform yourself widely about them.
We expect authors for whom the phone rings and their hearts race when the official account of the game tweets even the smallest detail. You write for the community. Therefore, you should not think that your opinion about the game is the only right one and vehemently defend it.
Ideally, you have already gained experience in journalism, have written for other sites or started your blog.
Author for Anthem on a project basis
We are looking for an author who will closely accompany the release of Anthem on Mein-MMO.de. The job is full-time but designed on a project basis. The project is planned for three months – approximately from February 1 to April 30.
There is definitely the possibility of continuing to work for Mein-MMO.de after the project is concluded. In that case, you would continue to be employed as a specialist author for Anthem from May 1, but you would also start reporting on Destiny 2.
Your tasks:
In-depth release coverage: Anthem is set to release on February 22, 2019. You will start a few weeks before the release to closely monitor the release phase of Anthem for three months: that is, until the end of April 2019.
Together with the team, you will explore Anthem and the growing community. You will report on what interests and impacts players of Anthem.
This includes: news, guides, analyses, opinion pieces, and top lists (like “The 5 strongest support builds in Anthem”)
Social: Expansion and management of our Anthem Facebook page in collaboration with our social media manager.
Scope: Daily news and multiple larger specials throughout the week.
Perspective: If you want and have proven yourself, it is possible to play a larger role in the team, and you will also manage other games, focusing on shared-world shooters.
But for now, it’s about the release phase of Anthem. We see this from early February to the end of April 2019.
