In today’s “Mein-MMO asks”, we want to know from you: Did the PS4 Pro make your mouth water, or does the box leave you cold?
For a few days now, there has been a dominant topic in the gaming media: The PS4 Pro, which has been circulating online for months as “PS4 Neo”. When will the new PS4 be released? What can it even do? Really, it doesn’t have a 4K Blu-ray drive?
Microsoft did not miss the chance to emphasize that their new consoles possess such a drive. Followed by statements from Sony that this will not be a disadvantage for the PS4 Pro.
The “console war” has seemingly flared up again and is burning fiercely. The media eagerly jumps on the bandwagon and pours more oil on the fire.
So now we want to pause for a moment and ask you a question before you race into the well-deserved weekend: What is your opinion on the PS4 Pro, which was officially introduced on Wednesday? Are you getting it right away? Would you rather wait for the more powerful Xbox in 2017? Or are you not interested at all, as you only play on PC?
More Power! Is this argument enough?

Ttime says: If you Google “More Power”, pictures of Tim Taylor, the home improvement king, who wants to equip all sorts of machines with more power in the series, come up directly. He is obsessed with “More Power”. Similarly, I feel about it. When it is said that something will be more powerful and “better”, I immediately become attentive, and childlike curiosity and anticipation rises within me.
I had exactly these emotions when I watched the live stream of the PS4 Pro. First thought: This thing is coming straight into my house!
But does it even need it? I don’t even have a 4K TV. Well, it was said that the Pro can squeeze the best out of any screen. But for me, these graphical peaks are currently not a compelling argument.
Moreover: I still have a functional PS4 lying around. All future PS4 games will also run on this gaming box. And it is likely that my console will continue to function perfectly for a long time – despite being heavily used by me. So, how should users who already own a PS4 behave?
Honestly: I don’t know. I probably won’t get it at launch. Even though I already feel the itch in my fingers. But I have not yet made a decision. At nearly 400 euros, it is cheaper than expected, but still takes a decent chunk out of the piggy bank.
Apart from all the technical details regarding the enhancement of PS4 games, it is particularly exciting for me because it is supposed to improve the VR experience, among other things through higher framerates. I’ve been looking forward to PSVR for quite some time. And when I get the headset, the PS4 Pro will probably soon adorn my living room…
