Some pre-orders from waves 1 and 2 are still waiting for their PS5 from MediaMarkt and Saturn. But there is good news. Some consoles are expected to be shipped again in the coming days.
What is going on? While some retailers have already shipped consoles from wave 3 on November 19, MediaMarkt and Saturn are still lagging behind significantly.
Even before the release date of the PS5, MediaMarkt sent emails that some orders might not arrive on time. At the end of November, there was a larger number of shipments – but this did not cover all pre-orders.
As the website Gameswirtschaft reports, dozens of buyers supposedly received a shipping confirmation on the night of December 4 – especially customers of MediaMarkt. However, not all consoles are expected to be shipped at once, but rather piece by piece.
How can I see if my console is being shipped? If your PS5 is shipped by the retailer, you will receive a corresponding notification via email.
If you have a customer account at MediaMarkt or Saturn, you can track the status of your order there. In general, you should keep an eye on both platforms.
Some buyers have also arranged for pickup in-store. For this, you will need the pickup confirmation that is sent via email. However, there could be regional differences in the supply of stores, warns Gameswirtschaft.
PS5 orders are still chaotic
How did the sale of the PS5 go? Pretty much every wave of pre-orders for Sony’s new console was chaotic. The first pre-sale started too early and almost all retailers experienced technical problems. Additionally, further pre-order actions faced huge demand and technical failures.
In wave 3, for example, Otto had to cancel some purchases because too many were ordered in too short a time. This made the chaos perfect for many.
In the current 4th wave, which took place on December 3, Euronics experienced problems. Buyers are said not to have received an order confirmation, even though the money was already debited. In this case, you should contact Euronics support.
Will I get a PS5 in 2020? Sony made many interested parties hopeful at the end of November again that there might be more sales before the end of the year. Whether this refers to the recent sales wave on December 3 or if there might be another wave before the end of the year is currently unknown.
