10. Beta Ray Bill
First appearance of the character: Thor Nr. 337 (November 1983)
Beta Ray Bill hails from the planet Korbin and was a normal resident of the planet. When the demon Surtur threatened to destroy his planet to create a weapon, Bill was chosen as the protector. After a painful operation that disfigured his face, he became a cyborg.
Despite his new power, he was unable to defeat Surtur. In search of a new home, he fought Thor in the Milky Way, yet Bill managed to grab Mjölnir, and it turned out he was worthy.
In a fight for Mjölnir, Bill won again but returned the hammer. As a reward, he received from Odin the axe Stormbreaker, which Thor receives in the MCU.
