The development of the promising and expensive anime MMORPG Peria Chronicles by Nexon has been canceled. The online game did not receive good enough feedback from testers to warrant further development.
What is Peria Chronicles? Nexon (MapleStory) announced the MMORPG in 2012 under the codename Project NT. Especially the graphics caught attention, as Peria Chronicles looks like a playable anime.
The concept was supposed to be something special, as every player would have the opportunity to create floating islands and populate them with NPCs or build dungeons filled with traps.
Additionally, the so-called Kirana were to play an important role. These pets could have been created by you and were supposed to possess powerful abilities to assist you.

What is the current situation regarding the MMORPG? The Korean website InvenGlobal reports that Nexon has halted the development of Peria Chronicles because the game apparently does not meet expectations and does not provide the fun it was supposed to.

Nexon has also commented on the situation and confirmed that the work on the MMORPG has been halted. Nexon further confirmed that the quality of the title was not good enough after internal and external tests.
How far had Peria Chronicles progressed? The MMORPG was in a beta phase in Korea. Nexon had also invested over eight million US dollars into the game. This is certainly painful when a studio has invested so much money into a title that is now being canceled.

As the sale did not go through, restructuring is currently taking place. This has led, among other things, to the PC and mobile divisions being merged, many employees having to leave the company, and the stock value decreasing.
Rumor has it that Nexon has canceled multiple MMOs that were in development. Peria Chronicles seems to confirm this now.
The employees of Nexon have now even announced strikes for September 3rd, as they fear for their jobs.
