It is no surprise that the latest class from World of Warcraft is also the least played archetype. Many players are forgoing the creation of a Evoker for just one reason.
What do I need to know about the Evoker? The class introduced with the Dragonflight expansion does have three varied specializations: Devastation, Preservation, and Enhancement. However, the archetype is firmly tied to the Dracthyr in terms of race choices.
Similar to the Worgen, the Dracthyr can switch between two forms – the draconic and a humanoid form. While in combat, they utilize the dragon form, in which they more or less fight “naked.” This limits their visual appearance quite a bit, at least according to a certain part of the WoW community.
Fradzombie complains in his post on Reddit for example: “I would play an Evoker in a heartbeat if I could choose a different visage form. I have no interest in another Blood Elf in a copy/paste style. Please, Blizzard, expand the options.”

What do other players think? The more than 1,600 upvotes and over 175 comments show that Fradzombie has hit a nerve. Many of the commentators agree or present another, also visual reason for opting out of an Evoker.

- Swiftzor agrees on Reddit: “Exactly that. I like the class, just let me wear my stuff.”
- CTBthanatos laments on Reddit: “I actually really like the Dracthyr. I just hate so much that they are forced to be naked due to Blizzard’s laziness.”
- Challenging-Wank7946 makes a bold suggestion on Reddit: “Add Draenei as an option and we have a deal.”
One way or another, the Evokers could use some love. According to dataforazeroth.com, only 3.6 percent of all max-level characters are Evokers. For characters of all levels, it doesn’t look much better, with only 3.7 percent. In comparison: The rogues, who have always been quite underrepresented since Vanilla WoW, make up 4.5 percent, Monks 5.6 percent.
Currently, the most represented classes in the game are Paladins, Druids, and Hunters. Speaking of challenging class and role distribution: A tank is much better in World of Warcraft than all the others. Almost 9 out of 10 professional tanks play the same class – that is a problem.
