Do you know the situation when someone wants to “just quickly” try out your latest game, and then they just can’t stop playing? That’s exactly what happened to a man who showed his wife Diablo 4. She is now so excited that he fears he won’t be able to use his PC for a long time.
What happened? A woman watched her husband playing Diablo 4. Normally, she is more of a casual gamer, having only gathered experience with Hogwarts Legacy and similar games, but somehow she was fascinated by the demon-slaying while watching.
So he lets his wife use his PC and returns after a while. In the meantime, she has already reached the first boss and even defeated him with a satisfied “Hehh”.
The man shares his experiences on Reddit:
How did the story end? The husband feared that his wife would never get away from the PC. Perhaps he did not expect that she would become so immersed in the game and excited about it.
After more than an hour, she was still transfixed in front of the PC. One hour turned into two hours. But eventually, she had to end the game and told her husband how great she found it.
When going to bed, the husband wanted to explain to his wife how to set up her own account in Diablo 4 to explore the adventure herself. But he had miscalculated: She made it clear to him that HE needed to get a new account, as she would not start over.
Maybe the man will still get to close the basements for his wife from time to time:
What do other users say about the story? In the comments, some users advise him to buy a Steam Deck. However, not for his wife, but rather for himself, as the users assume that the PC has now transitioned into her possession.
User Necronomis suggests that he should build a PC for his wife right away. Whether it’s a PC, laptop, or handheld, he is optimistic that the man has now found a lasting gaming companion in his wife.
Alternatively, there is the option for both of them to play couch co-op. User BostonBrandToots, for example, lets his wife handle the side quests and visit shrines while he takes care of other tasks.
Other players report that their partners level up the characters so much that they have to catch up first. Probably the MeinMMO guide would help them to quickly catch up: Diablo 4: Level up quickly – Guide up to level 100
