Escape from Tarkov accidentally deleted the progress of many players. Instead of a restoration, there is compensation.
What’s happening with Escape from Tarkov? Escape from Tarkov announced on the evening of August 7th on X.com that game profile data was lost due to a malfunction.
The developers also wrote that it is not possible to restore profiles in a short time and that the affected players would receive a “proportional compensation”. This has already been sent out.
The lost data is primarily about the game progress: for example, collected weapons and gear, saved money (rubles), and progress with the traders. Achievements and in-game statistics are not affected.
What kind of compensation is this? The developers announced on X.com that the compensation had already been sent out during the night. Some players then shared screenshots of the contents of the compensation.
Here you can see one of those screenshots on X.com:
The image shows around 45 million rubles, various key cards, as well as weapons, vests, and ammunition, and more in the player’s stash. He also mentions that all skills are leveled to 45.
Another user adds on Reddit that in addition to all skills at max level, he also has trader reputation at the highest level. He also possesses the various key cards and a lot of money.
Some players sharply criticize the accidental deletion of progress on social networks despite the compensation. Some also write that the developers could just bring the wipe forward since many players’ progress is already gone.
