Lost Ark was originally supposed to be released in 2021 and allowed the first players to test it as early as June. However, the MMORPG has now been postponed to 2022. Officially, it is stated that more adjustments for the West are needed than originally expected.
When will Lost Ark be released? According to a message on Twitter, Lost Ark is supposed to be released in early 2022. That is significantly later than many fans had hoped.
The reason for the postponement is cited as the adjustments that are necessary for the porting of the Korean game to the West:
- It is said that significant work has already been done on localization, bugs, and server structure
- However, during the technical alpha in June, there was a lot of feedback for adjustments that must still come into the game
- Lost Ark is supposed to offer the experience that the players deserve, many of whom have been waiting for the release in the West for years
Whether there will be specific changes for the West – such as to the shop system, which some call pay-to-win – is not mentioned. MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch also welcomes the postponement, especially from the perspective of Lost Ark fans: Amazon had to postpone Lost Ark, otherwise it would have gone up against New World.
However, players are not expected to wait until 2022 to be able to play the MMORPG.
When does the beta start? The closed beta is already supposed to take place from November 4 to 9, in which selected players and buyers of founder packs can participate.
Those who want to participate in the beta can register on the official website (via Lost Ark).
Developers promise more communication
What else was mentioned in the statement? In addition to the postponement, the developers also announced that they want to communicate more openly and regularly with the community in the future.
There is supposed to be a detailed update with behind-the-scenes info every month. In October, official forums and an official Discord are also planned.
In November, with the start of the beta, there is supposed to be better support for testers and content creators for the game.
