Update 06:58 PM: Even nearly an hour later, there is still no concrete statement. Community Manager Roxx wrote 5 minutes ago that an update will be shared as soon as it is available.

Update February 10 08:40 AM: We will keep you updated again. Currently, there are no queues, but we expect them to begin around 03:00 PM this afternoon. Anyone wanting to play in the evening at 08:00 PM should get in line as early as 06:00 PM.
It should be exciting on Friday evening. We will also keep you updated on possible server problems or player records in the ticker then.
Update 09:40 PM: Those who signed up at 07:30 PM like I did are still sitting with 7,000 players ahead of them in the queue on Asta. Since I will go offline at 11:00 PM, it looks like today may end with 0 minutes of Lost Ark.
Update 07:50 PM: Currently, Lost Ark has 481,000 concurrent players and you can expect a queue of over 15,000 players.
Update 06:00 PM: Currently, over 400,000 people are online in Lost Ark. The queue on Asta is currently at 12,000 players.

Update 01:50 PM: Community Manager Roxx shared important information about the release in the forum. After the launch at 06:00 PM, there will be a moment when Lost Ark will undergo a “decryption” on Steam. This may cost you only a few minutes but may, depending on CPU, hard drive, and internet connection, take a bit longer.
I don’t think it was ever in question whether the head start would take place; while it will take some time to decrypt the game at launch due to Steam processes, it starts tomorrow at 9 AM PT [06:00 PM German time] and that will not change. If you purchased a Founder’s Pack, you can play at that time.
This is what I got from Valve about their decryption process: “Decryption is an active process on the user’s computer. The time required for game decryption varies significantly and depends on the overall size of the game, the customer’s CPU performance, and the speed of the customer’s hard drive. Customers with top systems can likely start the game within minutes. Customers with older/slower computers will take longer.
