Glaurung was a fire dragon, and not just any dragon. He was considered the first among them, making him the father of dragons. Glaurung’s appearance resembled that of a snake, partly because he did not have wings. Another nickname was therefore “Wurm Morgoths”. Learn more about Morgoth on MeinMMO.
Glaurung fought in several battles, proving himself as a leader of whole armies and killed important opponents like the dwarf lord Azaghâl. He was known for his cruelty and also possessed the strong ability to control and manipulate the will of other beings. Glaurung was also capable of emitting poisonous vapors, making the fight against him more difficult.
One example of his deeds is the story of the siblings Túrin and Nienor. Glaurung caused Nienor to lose her memory, after which they fell in love with each other and Nienor became pregnant.
Although Túrin managed to mortally wound Glaurung, the man subsequently fainted. Nienor came to him and learned from the dying dragon that Túrin was her brother. Ashamed to expect a child from her own brother, Nienor took her own life. Shortly thereafter, Túrin also followed her into death.
