In League of Legends, Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle is the most successful supporter in recent years. The Slovenian has been a champion four times with G2 Esports and reached a World Championship final. However, for 2022, he is struggling to find a fitting team, although his transfer price has already been significantly reduced. The teams interested in him, the 23-year-old apparently does not find attractive. This is the low point of a poor transfer season for the LoL team G2 Esports.
Who is this?
- Mikyx joined G2 Esports in November 2018 and was the main supporter for the team in the following three years. He won the LEC championship four times in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, he even reached the finals of the Worlds with G2 Esports.
- However, in 2021, G2 Esports faced a break. The team sold their leader Perkz, played a minor role in the league, and failed to qualify for the World Championship. The team’s head announced a major overhaul: three players were to leave, including Mikyx.
- Initially, Mikyx was to be sold for 1.5 million euros. But it seems the team miscalculated.
Price drops from 1.5 million euros to $250,000 – Still no buyers
This is now the discussion about Mikyx: He has spoken on Twitter and said: He cannot find a team for Spring 2022 but will stream more often now.
What was the timeline? Clarification came from his boss at G2 Esports, Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez:
- He said, originally, the buyout price for Mikyx was set at 1.5 million euros
- At the beginning of November, the price was lowered to $500,000
- In mid-November, the price was reduced to $250,000
Five teams from the West reached out – including teams from Europe. But Mikyx showed no interest in negotiating with them.
Therefore, no buyers could be found. The hope is now that Mikyx can be transferred to a new club in Summer 2022.
What is the reaction? Mikyx says he was not communicated that he had five offers. He seems a little down. But Ocelote says they informed an agent about it.

What is happening at G2 Esports? Ocelote seems to have made a tactical error when he said after the bad year 2021 that a reorganization was planned. A leak quickly emerged that G2 Esports wanted to release and sell three of their highly decorated star players.
Apparently, they thought these were such superstars that top offers would surely roll in, but by announcing a restructuring and wanting to give these players away, they seemed to have ruined their market value.
It was clear that the players would not be playing for G2 in 2022 anymore. And why would someone spend a lot of money on a player who was deemed “too bad” for his current team?
It is now known that G2 is going to replace two of their “star players” with still largely unknown LoL players. For the top lane, they are bringing in the German player Broken Blade, who was last under contract with the bottom table Schalke 04.
