Some of the characters from the series Arcane are likely to become champions in League of Legends. The team “is looking forward to” making that happen.
The animated series “Arcane” has taken off like a bomb. Not only LoL players are thrilled, but many viewers who have never had anything to do with League of Legends were also captivated by the series. However, one question kept pushing to the forefront among players: Will we see some of the characters in League of Legends soon? The developers gave a first response to this – and it is sure to please.
What was said? In a Reddit post related to the “Sentinels of Light” event, the question arose whether the two upcoming characters at the start of 2022 (ADC and Support) could be related to the series Arcane. This was directly denied by Ryan Mireles, the “Lead Champion Producer”. However, there was a positive note right after: The team is already looking forward to bringing characters from Arcane. More specifically, it says in the LoL subreddit:
[…] As strong as the series resonated with so many players, the Champions team is already eager to explore characters from Arcane in the future that would make sense for a MOBA.
Which characters could that be? That is a good question. One characteristic of Arcane was that all characters were developed so thoroughly that a non-LoL player could hardly tell which characters already exist in the MOBA. Even the newly introduced characters were so extensively designed that they could easily be seen as having their origins in the game.
This, in turn, leads to a fairly solid list of characters that the LoL creators could draw upon. Possible candidates include:
- Mel Medarda
- Ambessa Medarda
- Deckard
- Silco
- Sevika
- Mylo
- Claggor
- Marcus
- Finn
- Bolbok
However, keep in mind that some of these characters are no longer alive, which greatly reduces the likelihood. It seems much more likely that living characters make it into the game.
When could the characters arrive? There is no specific date for that yet. However, no one should expect that the implementation will happen within the next few months. Riot typically plans characters at least six months or longer in advance.
So perhaps we will see the first surprise from Arcane in the second half of 2022 when a character makes its way into League of Legends. And then it may not be far off until fans can finally watch a second season of the series…
