On May 31, the Summer Split of the German Strauss Prime League began. Teams such as Schalke 04, GamerLegion, or the LoL team of YouTuber HandOfBlood are participating. After the first three match days, there is a curious situation that led to the team Eintracht Spandau deciding to rename itself.
What is the curious situation? After three match days, there are currently four teams in the Prime League that have won all matches. This leads to a special situation in the standings. While all teams are tied for first place, the order is displayed alphabetically:
- At the top is Berlin international Gaming (BiG)
- Next is Eintracht Spandau
- In third place is MOUZ
- Fourth is Schalke 04
The management of Eintracht Spandau does not want to let this situation pass. After all, BiG, as the Berlin team, is the major competitor of Spandau and the derbies between the two teams polarize. Seeing the “rival” team in first place has caused much discontent on Twitter.
Therefore, the management has now decided to rename the team.
From Eintracht to Aintracht
What is the team’s plan? Eintracht Spandau announced on June 9 that they will rename themselves. From now on, the team will be called Aintracht Spandau, thus starting with the letter “A”.
In line with the announcement, all team logos have also been adjusted. Johannes Gorzel, the co-CEO of INSTINCT 3, revealed to us that the league has also been informed and will make an adjustment to the name for the next match day.
In future ties, the HandOfBlood team will always be shown at the top of the standings.
How is this being received? The idea seems totally crazy at first glance, but it is being received very positively by the fans of Aintracht. After all, they want to see their team always at the top.

Tie at the top could last until the 5th match day
How has the new split been so far? While E WIE EINFACH E-SPORTS and Aintracht Spandau have remained loyal to their roster, all other teams in the league have made changes. Especially for the three teams in first place, the changes seem to have paid off:
- BiG, which finished only 6th in the standings and 4th in the playoffs in spring, has undergone significant restructuring. Three positions have been newly filled – Toplane, Botlane, and Support.
- MOUZ has brought back the German jungler Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider. The 28-year-old played for TSM, Fnatic, and Schalke 04 in the highest LoL leagues from 2014 to 2018.
- Schalke 04, in turn, signed Samuel “Lilipp” Englert. The supporter gained player experience in the LEC with SK Gaming in 2021.
What’s next in the Prime League? Today, on June 9, the fourth match day of the German league takes place. However, since none of the four leading teams face each other, there could still be four teams at the top by the end of the day.
The apparently easiest matchup is for Aintracht Spandau. They will face the team Penta 1860 around 10:00 PM, who have lost all three games of the Summer Split so far. You can watch all matches on Twitch or YouTube.
Update: Aintracht Spandau managed to win the match clearly. One reason for this was the strong performance of supporter Prime, who even stole the dragon.
On the 5th match day, Schalke 04 and BiG will face off, and the leading quartet will certainly be torn apart.
