The preseason offers players of League of Legends every year the opportunity to experiment and test different champions or builds. However, despite the turbulent time, the system against misconduct in the game does not rest. Riot employee “Phlox” was banned for 14 days for playing the considered weak champion Ryze: After all, Phlox is responsible for balancing.
This is the situation:
- Riot Games employee “Phlox” works as a designer in the Summoner’s Rift team. There, he is responsible for adapting the champions and, for example, strengthening weak characters.
- The last patch brought the preseason to the live servers.
For the preseason, Phlox aimed to try out and train a new champion. He chose Ryze. The wizard has been played occasionally by the legendary Faker from time to time.
But unlike Faker, the champion did not work so well when Phlox played him. Although he had only played Ryze in 20 consecutive games, he could not display good performance. After finishing some of his games with 0/7 or 0/10 statistics, Phlox was reported by teammates.
The system determined that he was not just having a streak of bad luck, but apparently was trolling intentionally, and banned him for 14 days.
If you also want to try a new champion, try the latest one, K’Sante:
Even Phlox has to contact Riot Support
What about his LoL account now? Phlox is not just any employee at Riot but is responsible for adjustments and patch notes. However, despite his relevance for the continuous update of the game, he cannot access his account through a backdoor.
Because his account was banned by the system, he also has to open a ticket and write to Riot Games support. They received his ticket and, due to the precarious situation, decided to unlock the account again.
After only 48 hours, Phlox regained his account, as reported by the Spanish site MGG .
Phlox has thus regained his account at Platinum 2 and can continue to refine his Ryze gameplay. In the meantime, he has improved his skills on the champion Ryze, but he only occasionally makes mistakes where he cannot showcase his abilities.
What’s the deal with the LoL report system? Some players provoke the automatic ban system of League of Legends. The streamer “LionL9” was banned a total of 708 times. But luckily for all players, Riot Games has taken this note and is constantly working to improve the system.
After having a teammate in your game who not only delivered a bad performance but apparently wanted to harm your team intentionally, you can report him.
The reporting system is regularly revised by Riot Games. They have recently added that players can receive a chat ban directly in the game if they behave outside of the “Riot Games” guidelines.
Even their own important employees are banned and caught by the system. They also have to go the official route to unlock their account again. Therefore, we can be reassured when it comes to professional players displaying improper behavior and wanting to exploit the system.
