In League of Legends, the preseason has been running for a few weeks. It is meant to try out new mechanics and make adjustments to the player experience. Despite all the changes, the battle for the leaderboard continues. The players of LoL have developed a new strategy that will help them climb the rankings.
What kind of strategy is it? During the preseason, Riot Games made some adjustments in the jungle. This is intended to make the role more attractive for new players. However, players who have already been in the jungle have to completely readjust.
In particular, the jungle items have been overhauled. After a bug was recently discovered in these items, which is now being fixed by Riot, new strategies need to be found. The players have thought about how they can use the jungle more effectively.
They have decided to enter the game with 2 different positions that bring the “Smite” spell. If the two players coordinate their jungle item cookies precisely, they can gain a massive gold advantage. This strategy offers few opportunities to counter.
In this video, you can see how huge League of Legends has become:
The excessively strong strategy for the jungle
How exactly does the tactic work? Both players take a position in the jungle. The goal is not to rethink the team’s role distribution, but to play differently in the jungle role.
The two players take turns using the advantages of the jungle. They use the summoner spell “Smite” and it works as follows:
- The first player buys the jungle item and the second their normal starting item.
- Once the first player has farmed 20 stacks on their jungle item, they switch to the mid lane.
- The player from the mid lane returns to base and gets their jungle companion. They then collect 20 stacks on Smite as well.
- Once the second player is finished, they switch again until player number 1 reaches the next milestone.
- Then they switch again.
Through this switching, both players gain experience and gold from both the lane and the jungle. The team also then has Smite available twice and can contest neutral objectives, such as the new dragon and Baron Nashor more easily.

What is the downside of this strategy? The major drawback of this strategy lies in finding the right players with the right champions. If either one is not suitable, it becomes very difficult to execute this tactic.
This tactic is suitable for Graves in the jungle, as he also does well in the lane. Any champion is possible for the mid lane. However, if the jungle player does not know how to behave in the mid lane and cannot play there, valuable gold and experience will be lost.
If the two players do not coordinate properly, it can also lead to significant difficulties in the mid lane. For example, no one may feel responsible for the mid lane. Or the player from the jungle insists on defeating his neutral opponents.
Both are possibilities that present a challenge for the players. However, if they can coordinate, the players will easily storm the rankings and improve their statistics.
