In League of Legends at the end of the season, the teams are preparing for the next season. In eSports, players are traded and given to other teams. The Spanish team “Team Heretics” has taken the opportunity and bought a spot in the LEC. Now they just need good players.
How is the team currently doing? Team Heretics won the playoffs in the summer of 2022 in the Spanish League and then participated in the European Masters. The EU Masters is a competitive league under the LEC and gives the best teams from the region a chance to prove themselves.
Team Heretics won the EU Masters championship with their old roster. Now they are playing in the Iberian Cup, which is organized by the Spanish league, for the title at the end of the year. On November 19, 2022, it starts at 6 PM on Twitch, and Team Heretics has the chance to finish the year with a spectacular run.
The team has bought a spot in the LEC for 2023. Now they are looking for veterans of the League of Legends scene for next year:
- They have selected top laner Shunsuke “Evi” Murase (27) for their LEC team.
- They also want to buy the First Blood King Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski (27).
What changes are expected in the upcoming season? One of them is K’Sante on the top lane:

What kind of new roster is this? The team from Spain has assembled its roster from various players:
- The top lane: Evi is the top laner from DetonatioN FocusMe and is joining Team Heretics. This makes him the first player from a Japanese league to be bought into the LEC. Evi also started with his team at the end of 2017. His iconic sign is giving a thumbs up to the camera when it focuses on him.
- The jungle sees an old acquaintance: Jankos has been playing in the LEC since 2013 and has played for various teams. Most recently, he played for G2 Esports and nearly won the World Championship with the team in 2019. He has been part of G2 Esports since 2017, and there are rumors that the buyout fee from G2 is too high. Team Heretics wants to buy him for a sum of €100,000.
- The mid: On the central position, Sol-min “Ruby” Lee (24) from the team “Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition” was the MVP of the Prime League this summer. He played against the old man’s team of NNO, which could no longer maintain as a 5-man team. Ruby will also play for Team Heretic next year.
- Fresh energy for the bot lane: The ADC of Team Heretics remains with Jakob “Jackspektra” Gullvag Kepple (21). He started for the team at the beginning of 2022 and so far has a relatively short League of Legends career.
- The supporter Mertai “Mersa” Sari (20) from Misfits Gaming is also moving to Team Heretics. He is known for his engage and tank support. Fortunately for Jankos, he does not play Yuumi, as the champ should be banned. Mersa forms the duo on the bot lane with Jackspectra.
What are the chances in the LEC? Team Heretics is trying to establish themselves in the European League of Legends league with their new roster. By acquiring 2 LoL veterans with Jankos and Evi, they have formed a very exciting team that wants to assert itself.
There is also great curiosity in the community about how the team will perform in the LEC. “veimiK” writes: “It’s Jankos again with an inexperienced bot lane. I’m very curious to see how it goes this time.” (via Reddit).
The question will be how well the established players can match up with the newcomers and play together. Jankos is especially known for his presence at the beginning of the game, which earned him the nickname “First Blood King.”
If they manage to synchronize well, this team has good chances in the LEC to make an impact. How far they will go is very exciting for us and the community.
