At the end of each season, Riot Games awards rewards for the ranked placement in League of Legends The higher you succeed in the ranking, the better rewards you get. To give you a good chance at the end of season 12, we have listed the 5 champions who have the biggest impact in the last patch and may offer an easier victory.
What do I play on which lane? The division of lanes in League of Legends is clearly determined by the system in ranked games. You have the choice between 3 lanes: Top, Mid, and Bot. While two of the lanes are played by just one player, there are two players on the Bot lane. The 5th player from each team stays in the Jungle and supports all lanes.
In the Top lane, characters are usually played who either have a lot of health or good potential for a 1 vs. 1 fight. In the Mid lane, mages or assassins typically play, who can pick off single enemies or influence the behavior of the opponents with their abilities, such as “Crowd Control (CC).”
The Bot lane is typically played by an “Attack Damage Carry (ADC)” who is characterized by automatic attacks, and the supporter. The supporter aids the ADC in winning the lane. The jungle is the most demanding role of all 5. It’s about not only dominating your opponent but also supporting your 3 lanes.

These champions help you achieve easier victories
Now let’s look at the individual lanes and their best champions, especially for new players:
First, let’s talk about the Top lane:
- Garen – This champion is considered a very simple character and still offers good potential for 1-vs-1 fights on the Top lane. Definitely worth recommending for beginners on the Top lane.
- Sett – As the boss, this champion brings high potential in 1-vs-1 battles. At the same time, his abilities and endurance can provide many options for the team.
- Nasus – If you just want to kill minions on the Top lane, Nasus is your champion. If he defeats a minion with the Q ability, he permanently gains 3 additional damage on his attack.
- Mordekaiser – As the only AP champion, Mordekaiser offers a lot of potential to round out the team with his ability strength. With his ultimate ability, you have the opportunity to completely take a single target out of the team fight, giving your team an advantage even if you haven’t played well.
- Aatrox – The favorite from the Worlds. Aatrox is a champion who, alongside a lot of damage, also brings a very high durability. While it is somewhat more challenging to hit his abilities, he is still a strong tip for the Top lane.
In the Jungle, primarily champions with a lot of health are listed:
- Rammus – Through his ability, Rammus can face any team that builds on attack strength. Additionally, he brings a lot of CC and can thus play an active role in team fights.
- Amumu – Amumu is considered one of the characters that bring the most CC. This allows him to have a significant impact on team fights and provides the option to focus on individual targets from time to time.
- Sejuani – She is also regarded as a CC monster, but takes the focus on individual targets to another level. When played correctly, you can stun an opponent for 3 seconds and take them out of the fight or target individual players.
- Volibear – If you want more action, Volibear is a good choice. He provides the option to take down towers and thus transforms reckless plays into well-considered ones.
- Bel’Veth – This champion has gained more attention through the World Championship. With high damage and flexible options, Bel’Veth can play a significant role in battles, destroying both individual enemies and entire teams.

Mages with a lot of damage over time are very effective for the Mid lane:
- Swain – The champion offers the ability to deal a lot of damage, keep opponents in check, and simultaneously the option to heal and gain health.
- Malzahar – With your Voidlings, Malzahar’s W ability, you have the opportunity to dominate the lane. With his abilities, Malzahar prefers to stay back in fights, but causes a lot of trouble for all opponents.
- Heimerdinger – This champion has also remained very strong. With his turrets, you can hold your lane without losing much. With his ultimate ability, Heimerdinger enhances his standard abilities and deals massive damage.
- Vex – If you want to play a champion that oscillates between CC and assassin, Vex is your option. You can terrify your enemies every few seconds and have an ability to damage either single targets or the entire opposing team.
- Viktor – As a character that is almost the most frequently played in the World Championship, Viktor offers massive damage against single opponents.
These 5 ADCs deal serious damage to your opponents:
- Miss Fortune – The strongest ADC by far on our list is the pirate. Miss Fortune brings a lot of damage and doesn’t even have to do much. Her abilities provide high damage and a bit of CC, allowing her to shine.
- Caitlyn – This champion has one of the longest ranges on the Bot lane, giving you the chance to defeat your opponents from a safe distance. With her ultimate ability, you can additionally eliminate single targets.
- Tristana – In the beginning, this yordle isn’t particularly strong but gains momentum throughout the game. With each level, her range increases, and through her E ability, she deals massive damage not only to one champion but also to the immediate surroundings.
- Kai’Sa – If you want to play a champion that focuses heavily on automatic attacks, Kai’Sa is a good choice. Additionally, with the option to enhance your abilities, you can reposition yourself in the middle of a fight using your ultimate ability.
- Jhin – This is the character who only has a short phase where he deals damage. But it hurts a lot. Every 4th shot from Jhin is a guaranteed critical hit before he has to reload his magazine. This means that while he cannot deal as much in long fights as the other mentioned champions, he excels at quickly taking down individual targets.

The role of the supporter assists the ADC and brings a lot of CC:
- Amumu – One of the champions that can be played flexibly between several positions. On the Bot lane, he brings a lot of CC and is a thorn in the side of the opposing ADC.
- Maokai – Like Amumu, Maokai also provides a lot of CC. He can specifically focus on one opponent. With his E ability “Sapling Toss,” he can annoy opponents on the lane without taking damage himself.
- Soraka – If you prefer to stand behind your teammates and keep them alive, then Soraka is your champion. She can use her abilities to bring her teammates back to life from the most critical situations.
- Sona – Sona is known for her ability to enhance. Each of her abilities strengthens teammates in the immediate vicinity. In addition, she can both heal and deal damage, making her a strong champion for the Bot lane.
- Zyra – If the damage of your ADC isn’t enough for you, then Zyra is a good choice. With her abilities, she can hold enemies in place and deal massive damage from a distance. A mage on the Bot lane who brings a lot to help her team.
What else can you do to win games more easily? Many guides and experienced players will give you the same tip. As soon as you enter the game, turn off the chat. It only distracts you during the course of the game. However, if you still want to communicate with your teammates, pings are the quicker and easier alternative.
If you feel more confident with a champion not on the list, then play your favorite champion instead. Playing with an unfamiliar champion slightly reduces your chances of winning. Even the pros have their favorite champions that are regularly improved before important tournaments.
If you get a role that doesn’t suit you and you don’t want to play, leave the game during champion selection. This way, you will lose fewer points for your rank, but not a whole game. A loss affects your point total much more drastically.
So try to be friendly with your team, as you need them to win the game. League of Legends is a team game, and even professional players have to remind themselves of this. They cannot win games alone.
