The Spaniard Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez (32) is the head of the large European team G2, who are multiple champions in League of Legends. Currently, G2 is selling its bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson (25). Ocelote makes it clear: Other teams in LoL are stingy because they don’t want to pay the modest sum that G2 is asking. Their fans are freaking crazy.
This is the situation at G2:
- The G2 team (based in Berlin) has dominated European LoL for years, even coming close to becoming world champions in 2019. But before 2021, they gave their best player away to the USA, since then, everything has gone wrong. They couldn’t even qualify for Worlds.
- The team had acquired the legendary bot laner Rekkles from league rival Fnatic before 2021. After a botched season, they now want to sell Rekkles and 2 other players.
- Ocelote has now reached his breaking point. He is apparently bothered by rumors about how much money G2 is allegedly selling the bot laner for. Claims on reddit circulated that Rekkles would cost 10 million US dollars (via reddit).
This is what the head of G2 writes: Ocelote is a former LoL pro and known for his outbursts . He writes on twitter:
You stupid assholes keep making up numbers and stories. The official sale price of Rekkles is 1.5 million euros – moreover, he can go to any team anywhere as long as they pay his price, which is already below market value.
Stop making up bullshit, you fucking idiots.
Just accept that your team is stingy and move on.

Undignified treatment of the player
How are the reactions to this: The player “Perkz,” who was sold by G2, is poking fun at his former boss Ocelote a bit. Just before his tweet, he posted on reddit that Rekkles costs 2 million US dollars.
Perkz’s logic is: If Ocelote lowers the price of Rekkles every 5 minutes like this, he will soon be available for free.
The players Wunder and Mikyx, who are also for sale, are now demanding that Ocelote let them know their exact transfer fee.
Others complain that it is undignified how G2 is treating such a legendary player as Rekkles.
A Twitter user accuses Ocelote of being cynical. He would have signed Rekkles “for free”, saying that 1.5 million is below market value is bold. Basically, he got a player for free, now puts him on the bench and practically forces him to move to the USA.
