New leaks about Battlefield 6 keep surfacing. This time, they have also reached a former developer of the series, who assesses what he sees.
What kind of leaks are these? Videos of Battlefield 6 keep popping up, where players showcase gameplay from the tests. Although this is prohibited, it doesn’t stop players from showing how the next Battlefield is supposed to look.
A new leak has made the rounds on X.com and also reached former developer David Goldfarb. He was employed at DICE until 2012 and worked on Mirror’s Edge, Battlefield: Bad Company 1 and 2, and Battlefield 3.
After his time at DICE, he moved to Overkill, the studio behind Payday 2, where he became the Game Director for the heist shooter. Goldfarb is now the Studio Creative Director and CCO of developer studio The Outsiders, which belongs to Funcom.

The leaks evoke good memories
What does the former developer have to say about the leaks? David Goldfarb reposted one of the leaks on X.com and commented: “Oh, the Bad Company 2 vibes I’m experiencing here remind me of the first time we tested Arica Harbor.” Arica Harbor was a popular map from Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which was released in 2010.
Goldfarb himself worked on the successful title, which is among the installments of the series with the best user ratings according to Metacritic. Arica Harbor features a desert with a highway and border checkpoints as well as a city with houses and construction sites, before leading to the namesake industrial harbor.
The former developer was likely reminded of these houses and construction sites by the leaks. They show a firefight on the street between houses and soldiers involved in a conflict with a tank from inside a house.
How does the developer assess the gameplay? Goldfarb provided two points of criticism regarding the gameplay on X.com and told fans what he doesn’t like:
- “The movements look a bit strange to me”
- “I can’t say that I like the character design, as it seems very generic.”
However, the leaks stem from a test version of the shooter, and it’s uncertain whether these represent final or still early versions of the respective systems and designs.
