The new shooter Project A by Riot Games is presumably called Valorant and could be a mix of CS:GO and Overwatch. A leak presents images of a character that resembles a mix of Mercy and Moira.
What does the leak show? The leak about the shooter from the LoL creators shows the appearance and abilities of Sentinel Sage, one of the possible characters from Project A. She seems to take on the role of a support:
- Barrier Orb: Creates a solid wall.
- Slow Orb: Throws a sphere that creates a field that slows down and knocks down opponents.
- Healing Orb: Can be thrown to heal allies over time or used to heal oneself.
- Resurrection: Revives allies after a short time.
The image also shows 6 other characters and a slot that was still locked at the time of the screenshot. The screenshot was shared, among others, on Twitter.
By now we know that the leak has been confirmed, that the game will be called Valorant and how the gameplay will unfold.
What do the abilities remind you of? Riot Games has stated that the shooter is more oriented towards Counter-Strike: Global Offensive than Overwatch. Nevertheless, the abilities immediately remind one of Blizzard’s hero shooter:
- Moira also has a healing orb that allies can use to generate health points.
- Mercy can heal allies and also revive them.
However, if you can believe the first testers, the abilities in Project A play a significantly subordinate role compared to Overwatch. The focus is supposed to be more on tactical aspects.
Project A is most likely called Valorant
What is the name of the new shooter? In October Riot Games announced the shooter along with 5 other new games. So far, the game has always been referred to as “Project A.” But this will not be the final name.
Already on February 20, Riot Games registered a new trademark named Valorant (Trademarks). At the same time, accounts for Twitter and YouTube were also created. Several well-known personalities from eSports are already following them.
It is therefore very likely that the shooter will be named Valorant, although there is a possibility that the planned MMO or a completely different game will bear this name.
When will there be new information? On the profile pictures of Valorant, a “02.” can be seen very clearly. Many fans conclude from this that new information about the game could be available on Monday, March 2.
Also visible in the image, albeit much smaller, is a 34. What exactly this means is not yet known.
