Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone could soon be visited by Captain America and Indiana Jones. At least, if a leak is to be believed, which predicts the arrival of these two Disney heroes. MeinMMO editor Jürgen Horn hopes that the leak is true, as the two characters fit perfectly into the setting of Vanguard.
What kind of leak is this? The data miner ModenasHD is currently making waves by releasing two images that show the film heroes Captain America and Indiana Jones as artworks in CoD Vanguard.
There should also be a calling card featuring Captain America. Does that mean that the two heroes, each from franchises owned by Disney, will soon be visible in the multiplayer mode of Vanguard and thus also in the new Pacific Warzone?
Partnership with Disney could bring Captain America and Indiana Jones into the game
How likely is it? The two posters, which show Cap in contemporary clothing and Indy bashing Nazis, are apparently not from the game, but fan artworks. The status of the calling card is still unclear. Is the leak ultimately a fake?
This contradicts a statement from top leaker Tom Henderson. He is considered highly informed and has predicted many significant events in CoD games, including the entire Warzone.
According to Henderson, there were indeed discussions between Activision and Disney in the summer of 2021: Indy and Captain America could therefore come into the game in the “near future”.
Why would the two fit so well into the game? As strange as it may seem at first, I believe the two characters fit perfectly into the game. Vanguard portrays a very specific picture of World War II in the campaign.
The game moves away from serious war stories and shows much more of a classic war movie plot, bursting with clichés and tropes. Thus, Indy and Cap fit perfectly in, as in their respective films, Nazis are also the bitterly evil villains and faceless hordes of cannon fodder, solely there to be spectacularly beaten up and taken down by the heroes.
The main villain of the campaign, SS General Freisinger, even bears a certain resemblance to Red Skull, Captain America’s arch-nemesis. And Indy would fit perfectly into the maps in the North African desert.
Additionally, Call of Duty has already introduced more outlandish characters into the game, including the comic character Judge Dredd or the East German agent Beck in Bavarian leather shorts.
Therefore, I sincerely hope that Henderson’s leak is indeed true and that I will soon field Cap or Indy as skin variants in Vanguard or Warzone. As a basis for Cap, I could well imagine the operator Wade, who comes from the same area as Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
