The summer update in GTA Online brought some new content. A leak now shows many contents that likely didn’t make it into the game at the last minute. This includes vehicles and corresponding modifications.
What kind of update is this? On August 11, the summer update 2020 was released in GTA Online and it was supposed to bring fresh wind into the game.
New yacht missions were added, allowing you to earn money and 15 new vehicles to cruise the streets of Los Santos.
Additionally, there were 6 small changes in the game, which may not be immediately noticeable, but are important for the gameplay. But what about the content that didn’t make it into the game?
These contents were still planned
What contents were still supposed to come with the DLC? Data miners have now researched the data of GTA Online and found some content that was likely planned for the summer update but didn’t make it into the game.
New vehicles
According to leaker WildBrick142, new vehicles and helicopters were planned. However, only a few data like sound effects or names remain in the system. Among other things, there would have been these modes of transport:
- A new variant of the water helicopter: Sea Sparrow
- A new Cargobob
- A Benny’s variant for the surfer (mini-van)
These are just a small part of the vehicle data that have been found. On Twitter, you can see the overview:
If these modes of transport had been included, there would have been far more vehicles than the 15 new cars that the summer DLC ultimately brought.
Modifications for vehicles
However, not only new vehicles were apparently planned by Rockstar. Several modification options for existing vehicles can also be found in the data.
The data miner explains that modifications for vehicles such as the Yosemite, Peyote Custom, and Manana Custom were planned. Whether these were different color options or new bed types.
Interestingly, the data miner was also able to find modifications for police vehicles. He suspects that this relates to the planned police DLC that did not appear (via Twitter).
However, all these changes and contents were not included in the game. It is still unclear what will happen to this content now. Whether it is gone for good and Rockstar has changed its mind or whether it will come at a later date. After all, we can still expect the biggest update ever in GTA Online in 2020.
