Necromancers are one of the strongest classes in Last Epoch. With the “Wraithlord” build, you summon a massive ghost that tears apart all enemies for you. MyMMO explains the build and details skills, passives, items, and loot filters.
What kind of build is this? As a Wraithlord Necromancer, you summon numerous spirits that fight by your side and cover enemies in necrotic damage. It is a variation of the Specter build, one of the best builds in the Tier List of Last Epoch.
However, through the unique or legendary helm “Wraithlord’s Harbour”, you instead summon a ghost lord – a kind of gigantic and significantly more powerful version of the companions, bringing along two additional ghosts.
You then buff this lord with your abilities into a true monster that simply mows through the enemies. You yourself can comfortably watch.
The build first appeared on Last Epoch Tools in English, and we have translated and expanded it. The ARPG expert Raxxanterax also plays a version of the build (via YouTube).
For the build, we recommend the Circle of Fate, whether you’re going solo or in a group. This way, you simply get your most important item faster. You can find everything about the factions in Last Epoch in our guide and a summary in the video:

The most important items, best stats, and loot filters
For the build, the helm “Wraithlord’s Harbour” is absolutely necessary. Without it, you can’t summon any ghost lord at all. Before you have the helm, we recommend the regular Specter build (via maxroll.gg). Other important items are:
- Exsanguinous (chest)
- Last Steps of the Living (boots)
- Death Rattle (amulet)
- The experimental affix “Protection per missing life”
- Reach of the Grave or Chronostasis (weapon)
Note: Currently, there is no German database for Last Epoch, and we have not found the items ourselves yet. Once we can source them, we will translate the names into German.
For the rest of the gear, you should focus more on the stats than on specific items. Your most important offensive stat is, of course, servant damage (not pet damage!). The most important defensive stat, apart from resistances, which you should definitely cap, is life, as the build relies on you slowly bleeding out. You have little life yourself, but a tremendous amount of protection. Other stats to look for in your gear include:
- Intelligence
- Necrotic damage / Necrotic damage from servants
- Necrotic penetration / Necrotic penetration for servants
- Critical avoidance
- Protection per second

Idols and Blessings
You can either carry 4 large and 4 medium idols (more defensive version), or 2 huge, 4 large, and 2 small (more offensive version). The important stats here are:
- Huge (4 slots): Armor through Bone Armor and increased cooldown recovery speed through Transplant
- Large (3 slots): Life, chance for death seals on servant hits, and protection decay threshold
- Medium (2 slots): Increased life and resistances
- Small (1 slot): Protection decay threshold and life
You build your blessings in the same way. Life is your most important stat, along with servant damage and resistances. Otherwise, you take blessings that increase your chances of helmets to get “Wraithlord’s Harbour” faster:
- The Black Sun: Memory of Light
- Ending the Storm: Sea Resonance
- Dragon’s Dominion: Humanity’s Resolution or Dragon’s Dominion – Here you can hardly go wrong
- The Age of Winter: Grael’s Determination
- Spirits of Fire: Command Virtue; here you can decide freely which resistance you need more
- Fall of the Outcast: Fortunate Winds or Mental Strength (for leveling)
- Argentus Arrogance or Conquest Right, depending on which item you are missing
- The Stolen Spear: Formosus Cruelty or Clan Enmity, depending on which weapon you choose – We recommend the staff
- Fall of the Empire: World Decay or Initial Hope, depending on whether you are looking for general prefixes or want to improve your weapon
- The Last Ruin: Heart’s Bastion or Elder’s Remains – Or for whatever slot you still need shards
In our guide, we explain everything about the blessings and how to obtain them.
Tips and Gameplay
The gameplay of the Wraithlord build is very straightforward: You summon your ghost lord with its ghosts. Then you buff your lord with Inferno and Terror Shadow and curse your enemies with Bone Curse.
Then you can watch everything die and teleport across the map with Transplant. While you do that, you’ll also reduce your cooldowns. You don’t really do anything yourself, just ensure that your ghosts remain strong.
While playing, you will continuously lose life, but that’s not too tragic because you get back a multiple of that as protection.
However, it is important that you resummon your lord every time you change the map. There is currently a bug that can cause your buffs to not apply correctly. Resummoning fixes the issue.
Additionally, you must be sure to hit your lord precisely and not another ghost. Otherwise, you will lose a lot of damage for the duration until you can buff again.
