A player found the exact outlines of two popular MW maps on the possible “Battle Royale” map of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Will they also come to multiplayer?
The clues for a battle royale in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are intensifying, and players are searching the entire game for more secrets.
Now, the outlines of two classic maps have been found again on the possible BR map, Verdansk and surrounding area, increasing the chance of being able to play these in standard multiplayer. Here you can see how to explore the possible BR map.
Battle Royale could be filled with old MW maps
Which maps were found? Redditor “evilonyx” diligently searched the alleged map of the possible Battle Royale “Warzone” and found concrete evidence of 2 more classics that are now definitely in the game:
- Killzone – A small map reminiscent of a training ground.
- Broadcast – A larger map set in a television station.
Both maps are visible from the CoD caster’s perspective in a local game. As the actual game center is very far away, the outlines are just barely recognizable, but clearly so. As a comparison, “evilonix” included the graphical setup in the post.
Will these maps come to regular multiplayer? This question remains exciting. Although several maps have already been discovered on the Battle Royale/SpecOps map, none of these cards have been online for regular multiplayer yet. Many of the found maps were part of a major leak that revealed possible modes and maps for the further course of MW 2019.
So far, only “Vacant” has been included. The “CoD 4” map was cleverly integrated into the “Ground War” map “Port of Verdansk” as part of the game and is also available as a 6vs6 variant. It is quite possible that we will get more maps from the old stock into the rotation. With Season 2, the MW2 map “Rust” was added to the current Modern Warfare.
Update: The new map of Season 2 “Atlas Superstore” is also located on the alleged BR map. As with “Vacant”, you can navigate as a CoD caster from the game area and explore Verdansk.
What else has been discovered? These are not the only maps that have been discovered so far. The battle royale could be filled with old favorite maps. The CoD soldiers are particularly requesting the airport level “Terminal”.
Season 2 with weapons and maps, but BR mode is the focus
What is coming with Season 2? In addition to the classic “Rust”, which will be available next week in a duel mode, the new season brings us another map (Atlas Superstore) and a packed battle pass, which brings 2 weapons back into the game.
Throughout the season, more content is expected to come. Another weapon has been confirmed through the roadmap, the multiplayer map “Khandor Hideout”, and new modes such as “Infected Ground War”.
When could the Battle Royale come? A known leaker made a bold prediction a few days ago and suspects the start of “Warzone” as early as February 18th.
